Digital Telephoto Professional 2x chance
I received this as a gift and I’ve been really impressed. It’s easy to use, light and comfortable to wear, and it’s been really motivating to compare the results of every run or swim. I wish it were waterproof! This is a great example of technology that really works.

I ordered this Wii for my mom and dad and they seem to love it. They are technically challenged so it is taking some getting used to, but they seem excited to have it and to get started on the Wii fit.

Grace IR3000 Digital GDI crazy
Caveat: I purchased this (and a GDI-IR1000 before) primarily to listen to a handful of Sirius talk channels without turning on a stereo system. DirecTV provides all the XM music channels, and I have a minimum of use for the 15,000 internet stations the Grace radio successfully receives. I ultimately purchased a Logitech Squeezebox Boom, which works perfectly with Sirius with better sound, albeit at a higher price.
I’ve tried two Grace internet radios, and both have the same problem… Sirius really doesn’t work (after weeks of interactions with Grace support).
The problem appears to be that the Sirius stream doesn’t come directly from Sirius (as the Stiletto and PC streams do), but from a third party named Reciva.
The problems? When you turn on the radio already set to a Sirius channel, more often than not it reports “Unable to play”, although pressing a preset button for the same Sirius channel immediately connects.
And then, after it connects, it frequently stops with “Stream ended”, although, again pressing the preset button immediately connects and plays.
Grace claimed this was a unique problem, and wanted me to try another radio, and I did, with exactly the same results (this time directly connected via Ethernet, instead of WiFi). But the Grace and Reciva websites now have multiple reports of the “Stream ended” problem.
Grace support, while professional and responsive, seems unable to resolve Reciva/Grace issues.
If Grace can work out the problems with Reciva/Sirius behind the scenes, or with a radio firmware update, this will be a good product. Until then, if you’re planning to buy this to receive Sirius (which requires paying Sirius for ‘CD quality’ streaming), think again.
One other comment on this model… the IR remote isn’t very effective… it must be used from directly in front of the unit, and at close range.

First I want to state that I only gave this book a star because I had to in order to post the review. Really I would give it no stars.
Walsch’s initial questions are very good questions and one’s that God wants to answer, and in fact already has. Unfortunately Walsch listened to the wrong voice, and it ultimately led him back to himself. Everybody wants to know why we exist, and why bad things happen to “good” people. The truth is God made man to be in relationship with Himself, but God will not force us to love Him, recieve His love, or obey Him. God created us with a will and will not violate that will.
God is a God of order, and has given us defined right and wrongs for our own good. He knows what ultimately produces life, and what produces death in our lives. Without defined right and wrongs you have utter chaos. There is a reason we have laws in America, policemen and judges to enforce those laws, and consequences for breaking those laws. Within a home you have boundaries and quidlines for your children, and they feel safe and loved because of those boundaries. In the same way the laws of a country are set up to protect it’s citizens, God’s laws are set up to protect us. Our feelings come and go; they are constantly changing. If we are basing right and wrong on that which is ever changing, we will never have anything to stand on. The word of God is unchanging and solid. It transcends religion, age, gender, and time.
God is also just and therefore must punish sin. Thankfully He sent His own Son to take the punishment for us. But if we refuse to accept His sacrifice on our behalf, we will have to bear the weight of God’s judgement. God is a God of love and mercy, and desires that none perish, but He is also righteous and holy. We cannot enter heaven carrying our sins. God has made a way for us, but only one way. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man can go to God except through Jesus. My prayer is that Walsch would have an encounter with

I could not have loved it more. Water for Elephants is one of those wonderful novels that has an interesting setting, but it doesn’t let the setting take over the story. It is a novel about the people in that place, and the people of Benzini’s circus took over my mind and stay with me still.
Jacob begins Water for Elephants alone. Orphaned by his immigrant parents, he is weeks away from his Cornell graduation, but he simply cannot return to the life he has known. He jumps aboard a moving train-the train carrying the Benzini circus to its next production. No one on the circus cares that Jacob didn’t finish his final exams. The diploma, he is told, “is just a piece of paper, and nobody here gives a damn about that. You’re on a show now. The rules are different.”
In fact, the circus seems to have no rules at all. Jacob somehow finds other kind souls among the misfits, and these people work together to protect themselves and the animals. The villians-Uncle Al and August-are well described and three-dimensional. You understand why they behave the way they do. These villians are not cookie-cutter images, and their real-world sensibilities make them even more frightening.

My 14-year-old daughter is a proclaimed book-hater. However, after being convinced to listen to Artemis Fowl on tape, she is hooked and has even asked us to buy her a copy! If this book can turn on an avowed book-hater, you know it’s good!
