Problem of NIK Power Maximal FC600

I bought this as a low cost backup charger for my D90’s EN-EL3e batteries. I like to have a spare charger when traveling, so if I lose an only charger (and I have been known to leave one or two in hotel rooms), I’m out of business until I can find a new one. Also, this one is 90-260 volt and comes with a European plug adapter plus an auto “cigar lighter” power plug, so it works just about anywhere. And it works fine.

My only question mark is this:

The specs on the charger label say exactly as follows:

Input:
AC 90-260V (50/60 Hz);
DC 12V-15V.
(I know what those numbers mean: it works in the U.S and most parts of the civilized world, and in most automobiles with power takeoffs.)

Output:
4.2V===450mA [The === symbols are exactly as on the spec label.]
8.4V===450mA
(I haven’t the slightest idea what those numbers are supposed to mean.)

When does it put out 4.2V and when does it put out 8.4V? Hard to believe those numbers are paired with the input numbers. And it doesn’t make sense (to me) that the 450mA is the same for both 4.2 and 8.4V outputs.

There is no instruction manual even though the label on the charger says “”Carefully read user manual before use.”

As I said, the charger seems to work as advertised, and it operates in most electrical environments and with the specific battery for which it was purchased, so perhaps it doesn’t matter what the output and input specs are, but it would be nice if they made sense.

CAN DB Maximal Power and you

We have almost 3 years of dirt built up in our apartments carpets so it is taking multiple treatments to get the carpets truly clean. We’ve even been able to remove black mold from some of the carpet in the bedroom with this machine. So far we’ve had 3 different managers in the complex who have promised us a carpet shampooing each time. One of these was after the hot water tank leaked two floors above us about two years ago. There are also quite a few places where cats have sprayed when we were cat sitting.

We’ve really noticed a difference in the air we’re breathing, there are a lot less sniffles now. This machine is worth every penny spent on it!!!

On actual usage on the extremely dirty carpet that we have use one and half measures of solution per tank. Where the carpet looks black use two measures of solution. It also helps to pre-treat some of the worst stains which we are using Bissel “Pet Stain and Odor” for that.

POU Power Maximal ST run out

Within the last few weeks I finally decided to jump from a CRT and Analog cables (Red, white, yellow) to a LCD with HDMI. I knew what the LCD was however was sorely lacking in knowledge when it came to cables and high def. After I had bought the TV and the player (which told me on the box not to forget the HDMI cables!) I had to search for the proper connections. Well, the only offerings in the store were HDMI cables ranging from 40-120 dollars. What did I know? I bought the 40 dollar ones (I know I am cheap) and was happy with them, until I found these by chance on amazon.

When I first looked at the page advertising these inexpensive cables for sale, I thought to myself: “Of course they’re cheap, because they will fall apart within a week”. However, when reading the reviews I started to get curious. How could I go wrong at 3 dollars shipped!

So I tried them out, have them connected, as I write this, to a samsung 37″ 1080p LCD and get the same quality (with no interference) as the 40 dollar cables. The shipping was 3 days and I could not have been more satisfied. You do not need gold plated, platinum plated, or heavy duty cables because the above reviewers are right: “All you need is that digital signal”. Moreover, they are plain (no logos or colors) but they are no of shoddy construction (I wiggled them around and unplugged and plugged them numerous times). What can I say? It is a quality product that anyone can afford.
