The Snow Queen ok or not

I loved this book from beginning to end. Along with some entertaining history, this is a beautifully woven tale. To my mind, a good novel has unexpected twists and surprises .. and this book carried one beautiful surprise all the way through.
This book stirred in me an affection for elephants that I hadn’t felt since childhood. Along with The Magician’s Elephant by Kate DiCamillo, Water for Elephants helped to inspire the painting “The Gentle Somnambulist” which is included in my book TREASURE Twenty One Paintings and a Key.
The Snow Queen

Yes.. Queen of Complexion Hearts

I just purchased actually two Kindle 2s. One is for a giveaway I’m hosting and because I bought one for the giveaway I had to buy one for myself (of course!). I cannot even begin to tell you how happy I am with this purchase. And I was a hard sell…and very hard sell. I was not sold on e-readers at all…until I held this little slice of magic in my hands. I researched them ALL…several times over. And for me, the Kindle 2 was an easy buy in terms of price and quality.

First, I love the size and weight. Couldn’t be more perfect or comfortable to hold. It’s not awkward like holding a book when you have to kind of lean it to one side depending on the page you’re reading. So easy and comfortable to turn pages and I love that I can comfortably hold it in one hand for long periods of time and never feel the arm or hand fatigue.

Second, I wear glasses and reading books on that stark white or cream paper makes my eyes tired after a while. Not so with the Kindle E-ink…is that what it’s called? I love having the ability to increase the font size with the click of the button. It reads beautifully, certainly 100 times better than I ever thought it would. Whether I’m in low light or in the sunlight, it’s always crystal clear and I don’t have the eyestrain.

Third, I LOVE that I can shop and download a book whereever I am and whenever I get ready. Strangely enough, it still hasn’t made me do a lot of impulse buying, which I was afraid of. Nope, I’m still as price sensitive as before but when I find something, one click and it’s mine.

Fourth, I love the dictionary. As a writer, I love learning new words and it’s SOOOO easy to get the definitions. Unbelievable.

Fifth, it’s just friggin’ neat. I mean if you’re like me and you love new toys, this is better than my Lite Brite and Easy-Bake Oven. I haven’t been this happy about a purchase in ages. If you love books and love to read, this is a MUST HAVE.

The only thing, IMHO, that they could add to make the experience

Rodgers Live Paul Queen suck

Just like the title says, why anyone would pay more for a HDMI cable, I don’t know. Works great, shipping was reasonable, and it wasn’t $30-50, like in Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc.
